Today I will be bloging about three diferent parts of the cell. The first part I'am going to talk about is the cell wall. The cell wall does a very important job for the cell. The cell wall controls what comes in the cell and what comes out of the cell. This is important to the cell because if there was nothing to protect the cell. If there was nothing to protect the cell it would cause bad things to the cell. Another thing is that the cell would really be messed up and destroyed.

Today I will be blogging about the growth of baby rats. At first I had no idea about baby rats. I asked some friends about it and they gave me some facts on it. I also asked my science teacher about baby rats growth too. She gave me even more facts. She said when a baby rat is born it is a tiny pink baby. After a while that baby rat grows hair. A mother rat can have up to twelve baby rats. When a baby rat is born its mother feeds the babies. After a while the baby rats head and tail grow. The baby rats tail and head grow before any other parts of the baby rats. Another thing is while the baby rat is growing up it must stay with its mother or it will die.

In science I am learning about measuring. We measure boxes, table counters, paperclips, and many other things. Last week we made a paper and card stock frog. We were doing an experiment to see which frog would jump farther. The card stock frog had an average of 17 and the paper 14. We are also doing averages and rounding. We are also studying the scientific method. We watched a couple of videos on brain pop too. We are also learning the safety rules about the science lab. We had a test a couple of days ago on it. I only missed one question.

In this blog I will tell you how to find the volume of an irregular shaped object. First, you must find the height and length of the object. Then you multiply them and you get the volume. I remember this from my sixth grade teacher. My sixth grade teacher did not teach my classmates and I a lot about science. She always said that her least favorite subject was science. I was not taught computers either. In fact, I did not get a computer until the begging of this school year. I was also taught this in almost every grade.
Throughout the summer I have forgotten some of my classwork. I try to remember stuff like this in class. In elementary school I got mostly straight A's. My mom hopes that I still get straight A's in middle school.

I asked my mom and dad who I look like the most yesterday. My mom said that I look more like her. My dad said that I act like him when he was a kid. They said me and my brother look like my mom, but we act like my dad. My sister is the only one in the family that looks like my dad. My mom said she acts like her when she was a kid. My mom says I act like her brother too.
The reason why I look like my mom is because I have her DNA. I learned this from my sciene teacher yesterday. My teacher is Mrs.Poole. She sayed that when we are born we recieve DNA from both of the parents.

Cells help your body move and do many important things that keep us alive. I know my cells are working  because I am moving and typing right now. Also if they were not working I would not be moving or typing. I learned this in th 4th grade. I am also learning this in my science class. Cells keep me up and moving. Cells also help me live and react to certain things.
I also know when they are not working. If they were not I would probably be dead. Cells are made up of other cells. I also know that all living things have cells. Even plants, animals, and bugs. Another thing is that we have many cells all over our bodies. Even though you can not see or feel your cells working, they are. Cells are so small you can not see them.

My favorite activity in science was when we had to chew gum to see if it would increase or decrease in mass. My teacher, Mrs.Poole, is teaching my classmates and I about mass. In this experiment we had to figure out if the mass of us chewing gum would increase or decrease. We started chewing gum for 2 minutes then it went on until we chewed it for 10 minutes. At the end its mass decreased. I thought that the mass would increase.
I liked this experiment because we actually got to chew gum in class without getting in trouble. Some things increase in mass rather than decrease but this was a fun experiment

to try and figure out what would happen.
